The color changes look stunning and also the details like submit button and the subscribe by email box. The one thing I don't particularly fancy is the "a bit to big for my taste" header, but I guess the design wouldn't be the same without it! I don't think you can do anything else to this design to improve it... so my advice is not to change anything! Cheers! I really like the new design. The green/blue sidebar might get a bit tiresome after a while. Maybe tone it down and only use the gradient background for the search bar. The rest could use the gradient as an accent colour. The post title title also seem to be a bit lost, it could be a consequence of the dominant sidebar. If you stick with the sidebar, perhaps consider a dark grey for post titles.
